Hey guys, I can you play total war games on macedon in rome gotten this game yet, but I was wondering how do you play as the Greeks?
From what I games you can play friends online, there are only 3 factions you can choose from Julii, Brutii, Scipii.
Also, I've heard that you can also play as Spartans.
Are they under the Greek faction?
I really have no knowledge about this game at the moment, so any help is appreciated.
To play a campaign as a non-Roman faction, you first have to win the campaign as any one of the three Roman factions.
Alternatively, you could just edit a data file to make all the factions available to play from the start.
If you decide to edit the data file though, make sure you backup the original file before editing it so that you can revert to that file if you make any mistakes.
Otherwise your game might become unplayable and you will have to reinstall.
There is no Spartan faction.
However, the Greek Cities faction have their capital initially set at Sparta from where they can recruit Spartan Hoplites, which are arguably the best infantry you can recruit in the game.
You don't have to win an entire campaign.
All you need to do to make the other factions playable is simply conquer them in campaign mode.
Don't be disapointed with the Greeks though when you can you play total war games on macedon in rome out that their cavalry and ranged units except siege engines absolutely suck.
Though that doesn't stop them from having some of the most broken infantry in the game.
Armoured Hoplites I prefer them over Spartan, cheaper, and way more armour though Spartan's have 2 hps instead of onewith blacksmithing upgrades and such they have armor like in the mid 20s and are basically immune to archers.
Greeks have 2 major advantages, infantry and archers, almost the entire of the Greek peninsula will spawn the mercenaries "Cretan Games you on macbook air these are the best archers in the game next to Pharoh's Bowmen, so hire them whenever you can otherwise you will be stuck using vanilla archers.
Your cavalry is probably the worst in the game, also beware when you are fighting Macedon as your phalanxes are in 3 ranks where as Macedonian Royal Pikemen fight in 4 due to their longer range so you will want to engage with armoured hopilites in the front and hit their flanks and rear.
Also beware of the Macedonian Companion Cavalry, it will really ruin your day as it is far superior to any mounted troops you can train, against Macedon it is best to destroy them early before their good units get going as they can pose a serious threat.
While you cavalry is no good, it does not mean you should not buy it as a rear charge in to engaged infantry will always break them if they have poor morale.
A typical army you will want to consist of 4-6 cavalry, 4-6 archers then as many hopilites as you can.
I can't even begin to stress how important weapons and especially armour upgrades are to Greece so make sure at least 1 city has the very best metalworks you can build to keep them with the best upgrades you can.
Your biggest issue will be starting, compared to the factions that neighbour it Greece has an extremely weak start, you can't rely on getting a constant supply of Cretan archers and their inclusion to your forces will be the exception rather than the rule.
Your starting Hopilites are very weak and have poor morale don't even build Militia Hopilites and your first good unit which are Armoured Hopilites don't make an appearance till quite a while.
So try to learn more here do with basic Hopilite units.
Utilize cavalry defensively until your opponent has can you play total war games on macedon in rome of their own left as a rear charge will likely rout most of your army, Greece are challenging to play on harder difficulties every faction is easy on lower difficulties but when you get to grips with them and your armies are composed of well upgraded armoured hopilites with some Spartans thrown in you will never look back.
Kipling just launched a nuclear holocaust at third world countries!.
Cretans are excellent in the early game, or if the faction you're using lacks upgraded Archers, but fall short of the mark when compared to any of the upgraded Archers.
Oh, how that lonesome sound brings me back.
At the end, I am an anime otaku at heart.
Not to mention how easy it is to get gold level ranged weapons as Greece you end up with archers at 14 attack power on their missiles : The basic missile attack on all the advanced archer units are: Forester Warband: 11 Cretan Archers: 11 Pharoh's Bowmen: 10 Chosen Archer warband: 8 Archer Auxillia: 8 In a straight up man for man shootout the Cretan Archers will usually lose out but unless your opponent matches the number of advanced archery units on the field as you, you can usually win the archery duel, or at least cripple their archery forces to a point they are utterly neglible to everyone else in the battle.

The next step depends on progress of Athens and Sparta in the fight against Epirus; however I recommend conquering other Macedon regions as soon as possible. Now you can get back to conquering Thracia. With two provinces you'll significantly extend your maneuver field and open new expansion directions.

In rome total war, Macedon has to be the strangest faction ever. 1) Strangly enough, you c'ant play as it. Id rather play as macedon then, say, Parthia. 2)Levy pikemen, even though they are higher in barracks requirement than militia hoplites, Have worse stats. I mean, i know you get alot more units, but its still wierd.

Series Playlist: Subscribe for daily videos: Follow me on Twitter: Total War: Rome II is set in the classical antiquity period, and focuses on a more inclusive can you play total war games on macedon in rome in depth portrayal of each culture, which in the original game had been portrayed anachronistically.
The grand campaign begins in 272 BC, and lasts for 300 years.
However, the player also has the option to play further, as there are no timed victory conditions in Rome II.
The Warscape engine powers the visuals of the game and new unit cameras allows players to focus on individual soldiers on the battlefield, which in itself may contain thousands of combatants at a time.
The Creative Assembly has stated that they wish to bring out the more human side of war this way, with soldiers reacting with horror as their comrades get killed around them and officers inspiring their men with heroic speeches can you play total war games on macedon in rome siege towers hit the walls of the enemy city.
This is realized using facial animations for individual units, adding a feel of horror and realism to the battles.
Armies and navies have changeable stances on the campaign map.
Stances determine factors on the campaign map, such as total movement points per turn or the ability to deploy traps for an ambush.
For example, the "Forced March" stance can enable an army to march further, but will also tire out its men and reduce their fighting ability and leave them vulnerable to ambush; the "Defensive Stance" enables the player to place fortifications such as stakes or redoubts, and the "Ambush Stance" enables the placing of traps such as fireballs and sulfur pits.
Armies and fleets in Rome II can be made up of a maximum of 20 units and must have a general or admiral to lead them.
An individual faction's power, or "imperium", determines the number of armies it can raise.
A faction can gain more imperium by conquering more regions and acquiring more gold.
Players also have the ability to name units in an army and change their emblems.
When an army is formed, the player must pick a general from a list of available faction members to lead the new army.
When it recruits new units, the army enters muster mode and cannot move until the new units have been added to the army.
Both armies and generals can gain skills and traits as they level up after battles.
Each skill can be upgraded up to three times to enhance an army or general's performance.
Furthermore, if an army loses its general, a new one will be appointed by the player prior to the battle in which the general was lost.
These rules also apply to fleets and visit web page of the faction's navy.
As with Total War: Shogun 2, the player will be prompted with decisions throughout the game.
The Creative Assembly have expanded on this mechanic, with each decision leading the player down a particular 'decision path' based on the player's previous decisions.
These decisions will then affect the way the campaign plays out, such as turning the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire through a civil war.
Additionally, rather than solely assigning traits to generals and family members as with previous Total War games, the player can assign traits to legions as they gain combat experience through their years of conquest.
Players can customise legions by choosing their weapon loadout.
Players will still be able to determine the composition of individual cohorts, even though they will be building entire legions at a time, unlike in previous Total Continue reading titles where the player had to build all units of an army separately.

Hello everyone! I recently got back into Rome II after playing it 3 years ago, and decided to jump in with Macedon. I have heard that it was hugely nerfed in some patches, however I have discovered after a couple of playthroughs that it is secretly one of the most powerful nations in the game.

Then you need to secure your southern front with the Greek states. You can either use your money to bribe Athens and Sparta into liking you and eventually a trade agreement, or you can war Epirus which will also result in the Greek states not hating you any longer. That's just the early game.

Hey guys, I haven't gotten this game yet, but I was wondering how do you play as the Greeks?
From what I know, there are only 3 factions you can choose from Julii, Brutii, Scipii.
Also, I've heard that you can also play as Spartans.
Are they under the Greek faction?
I really have no knowledge about this game at the moment, so any help is appreciated.
To play a campaign as a non-Roman faction, you first have to win the campaign as any all you can eat jupiters casino of the three Roman factions.
Alternatively, you could just edit a data file to make all the factions available to play from the start.
If you decide can you play total war games on macedon in rome edit the data file though, make sure you backup the original file before editing it so that you can revert to that file if you make any mistakes.
All you need to do to make the other factions just click for source is simply conquer them in campaign mode.
Don't be disapointed with the Greeks though when you find out that their cavalry and ranged units except siege engines absolutely suck.
Though that doesn't stop them from having some of the most broken infantry in the game.
Armoured Hoplites I prefer them over Spartan, can you play total war games on macedon in rome, and way more armour though Spartan's have 2 hps instead of onewith blacksmithing upgrades and such they have armor like in the mid 20s and are basically immune to archers.
Greeks have 2 major can you play total war games on macedon in rome, infantry and archers, almost the entire of the Greek peninsula will spawn the mercenaries "Cretan Archers" these are the best archers in the game next to Pharoh's Bowmen, so hire them whenever you can otherwise you will be stuck using vanilla archers.
Also beware of the Macedonian Companion Cavalry, it will really ruin your day as it is far superior to any mounted troops you can can you play total war games on macedon in rome, against Macedon it is best to destroy them early before their good units get going as they can pose a serious threat.
Your biggest issue will be starting, compared to the factions that neighbour it Greece has an extremely weak start, you can't rely on getting a constant supply of Cretan archers and their inclusion to your forces will be the exception rather click to see more the rule.
Your starting Hopilites are very weak and have poor morale don't even build Militia Hopilites and your first good unit which are Armoured Hopilites don't make an appearance till quite a while.
So try to make do with basic Hopilite units.
Utilize cavalry defensively until your opponent has none of their own left as a rear charge will likely rout most of your army, Greece are challenging to play on harder can you play total war games on macedon in rome every faction is easy on lower difficulties but when you get to grips with them and your armies are composed of well upgraded armoured hopilites with some Spartans thrown in you will never look back.
Not to mention how easy it is to get gold level ranged weapons as Greece you end up with archers at 14 attack power on their missiles : The basic missile attack on all the advanced archer units are: Forester Warband: 11 Cretan Archers: 11 Pharoh's Bowmen: 10 Chosen Archer warband: 8 Archer Auxillia: 8 In a straight up man for man shootout can you play total war games on macedon in rome Cretan Archers will usually lose out but unless your opponent matches the number of advanced archery units on the field as you, you can usually win the archery duel, or at least cripple their archery forces to a point they are utterly neglible to everyone else in the battle.
